A 32-year-old kidney patient, Haleema Olumegbon, has tragically passed away due to complications related to kidney failure.
This unfortunate news was communicated through a statement from Demi Care Foundation.
The Naija New.org had earlier reported the relocation of Haleema, a devoted mother of one, to Ibadan with the hope of seeking assistance from Agbala Gabriel, a prominent philanthropist and pastor in the area.
Despite her efforts over the past several months to secure a meeting with him, her attempts were unsuccessful. Sadly, she succumbed to her illness yesterday in Ibadan.
The state reads:
“Goodnight; We regret to announce the death of Haleema Olumegbon who slept in the Lord yesterday afternoon, on the 6th of August 2024. 32 year old Haleema battled Kidney failure . She was in Cairo when she suddenly fell ill and returned to Nigeria.
“We were contacted to assist Haleema and we immediately flagged off a campaign to solicit for medical fund . 8.1M generated unfortunately there was no kidney donor .
“As the discussion for a Kidney donor went on , her 11 year old son volunteered to donate but it was impossible as a child . Haleema’s fund was depleted as she lived on 24hours oxygen daily . She thereafter relocated from Lagos state to Ibadan , Oyo state in her fight to survive with a mission to see an ibadan Evangelist , Agbala Gabriel for assistance to no avail . The day draws closer and closer and her dream to see the popular Pastor became thin and her condition worsened . Sometimes last month , we decided to visit her in Ibadan where she relocated to encourage her and discuss way forward.
“Last week , Out of worry , I placed a call to her and advised her on the next line of action to take in order to see the said Evangelist but it was all a dream .
HALIMA died in her room . Sad. The team visited her Dad here in Lagos today .
“She will be buried in Ibadan today . We empathize with the family and May God comfort them at this difficult time . She’s survived by her two little children.”
