Zytoon Montessori Schools, Ikorodu, marked a significant milestone on Saturday, August 3, 2024, by celebrating its 10th anniversary and graduating sixteen pupils across various classes, from kindergarten to primary.
The event commenced with an inspiring speech from the school proprietress, Mrs. Semiat Okunniyi.
She reminisced about the school’s humble beginnings and expressed pride in its growth and accomplishments.
“The seed planted many years ago has now blossomed into an elegant institution,” Mrs. Okunniyi remarked. She encouraged the graduates to continue being exemplary ambassadors of Zytoon Montessori Schools.
Mrs Okunniyi highlighted the school consistency in delivering quality education over the past decade.
“The foundation laid ten years ago has culminated in this milestone celebration. Zytoon Montessori Schools has consistently provided quality service and has become a feeder to many other schools. The solid educational foundation laid here prepares our students for future academic challenges,” she stated.
Giving an assessment of the school, the pioneer Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mr. Adeniran Waheed, praised the school well-packaged programmes.
“The children’s presentations and other activities showcase the school’s dedication and sacrifice. Zytoon Montessori Schools meets the three essential criteria of a good school: quality, relevance, and access,” Mr. Waheed observed.
He further emphasized that the school is 21st-century compliant, given the spiritual and moral preparedness of its pupils. He attributed this success to the provision of Qur’anic education.
Parents also expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the school’s management and staff.
Mrs Animashaun, a parent of one of the graduating pupils, Atyab Animashaun, commended the quality education provided at Zytoon.
“The teachers are qualified and caring. I must especially commend the ustadh who taught them the Holy Qur’an,” she said.
The elegant ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including the school Director, Alhaji Taobana Okunniyi; the Chairman and CEO of Thames Valley College, Alhaji Nurudeen Fagbenro; and the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mr. Adeniran Waheed.
The event featured various presentations, including Qur’anic recitations and choreographic performances.
The highlight of the day was the presentation of certificates to the graduates, followed by the ceremonial cutting of the graduation cake and presentation of legacy awards to some staff.
