The wife of the Borno State Governor, Dr Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum, has launched the distribution of one million free exercise books to pupils and Junior Secondary School students across the state.
This significant initiative falls under the umbrella of the Renewed Hope Initiative, aimed at fostering educational development and reducing barriers to learning.
The distribution ceremony, which took place at the Government House in Maiduguri, was attended by educators, government officials, parents, and enthusiastic students.
Dr. Falmata Zulum, in her address, emphasized the importance of education as a cornerstone for the future prosperity of Borno State.
She highlighted that the provision of free exercise books is a critical step in ensuring that all students have the necessary tools to succeed academically.
“Education is the bedrock of any progressive society,” Dr. Zulum stated. “By equipping our young learners with essential materials, we are laying a strong foundation for their academic journey and future success. This initiative is not just about distributing books; it is about renewing our hope in the power of education to transform lives and communities.”
The Renewed Hope Initiative is a comprehensive programme aimed at revitalizing the educational sector in Borno State. It focuses on providing quality education, improving school infrastructure, training teachers, and ensuring that every child has access to learning materials.
