A joint operation conducted by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and the Area A Command has resulted in the arrest of 90 suspects in Obalende, Adeniji, and Lagos Island.
Acting on valuable intelligence, the operation aimed to crack down on criminal activities in these notorious areas.
The operation, which commenced at midnight, saw the teams meticulously combing through the targeted spots. The all-male suspects have since been handed over to the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
In a bid to enhance security measures and combat the activities of miscreants, the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Shola Jejeloye, has directed the squad’s riders to extend their operations to Lekki, Jakande Roundabout, and V.G.C. This extension will complement the agency’s existing vehicular patrol along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The primary objective of this expansion is to mitigate the harassment of motorists by miscreants in traffic along the highway. By increasing the presence of the RRS in these areas, the agency aims to create a safer environment for both residents and commuters.
These proactive measures demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies in Lagos State to effectively combat crime and maintain public safety.
