President Bola Tinubu has taken a significant step towards accelerating development across the country by signing into law two crucial bills.
The North-West Development Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2024, and the South-East Development Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2023, have received the President’s assent.
The North-West Development Commission aims to facilitate the reconstruction of roads, houses, and business premises that were destroyed by multidimensional crises. It will also address poverty, improve literacy levels, tackle ecological issues, and overcome other developmental challenges faced by states in the North-West region.
Similarly, the South-East Development Commission has been established to spearhead the reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the region.
This includes repairing roads, houses, and other damages, as well as addressing ecological concerns and other developmental challenges faced by states in the South-East.
President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to fairness, equity, and unity is evident in his efforts to ensure equal development and inclusive governance.
He aims to provide high-quality services to all Nigerians, regardless of their location, while strengthening the unity of the nation.
This development signifies a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards holistic progress and a brighter future for all its citizens.
