Former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). This significant defection, which underscores the fluid nature of political alliances in Nigeria, took place on Saturday during a high-profile event in Abuja.
Philip Shaibu, who was previously a stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), led a coalition of PDP Legacy members in a move that has sent shockwaves through the political landscape of Edo State.
The defection ceremony coincided with the inauguration of the APC’s National Campaign Council for the upcoming Edo Governorship Election slated for September 21.
