The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has issued a resolute condemnation following the tragic suicide attacks that shook Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attacks, which claimed numerous innocent lives and left many others injured, elicited profound grief and solidarity from Governor Inuwa Yahaya and his colleagues across the northern region.
In a statement released in response to the incident, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims, as well as to the government and people of Borno State.
He denounced the perpetrators of what he described as cowardly acts of terror, emphasizing that such violence has no place in a society striving for peace and progress.
“These cowardly attacks by bloodthirsty terrorists will never break the spirit of the peace-loving people of Northern Nigeria and our great nation,” Governor Inuwa Yahaya affirmed, underlining the resilience and determination of the region’s populace to stand united against terrorism.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya commended the ongoing efforts of security agencies under the leadership of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, acknowledging their swift response and effective measures to stabilize the situation. He highlighted the critical importance of enhanced intelligence and proactive security measures in preventing future tragedies.
“We must ensure that our security apparatus remains vigilant and ahead of these terrorists. It is through cooperation and sustained efforts that we will overcome this menace,” Governor Inuwa Yahaya stated, rallying support for collaborative measures to secure the region and protect its people.
In a show of solidarity, Governor Inuwa Yahaya assured the victims and their families of unwavering support from the Northern States Governors’ Forum.
“Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. The NSGF stands united with you in solidarity and remains committed to working together with all stakeholders to ensure lasting peace and stability across our region and the nation at large,” he affirmed.
As the northern region mourns the loss of lives in Gwoza, Governor Inuwa Yahaya urged for collective resilience and unity among the people. “We must stand together, undeterred by these acts of terror. Our unity and resolve will ultimately defeat the forces of darkness and ensure lasting peace and security in our region,” he concluded.
