Entrepreneur and President of African Legacy International, Mr. Innocent Ogu, has highlighted the pivotal role of manufacturing and commercialization in propelling Nigeria’s economic growth.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ogu emphasized his organization’s dedication to economic development through strategic initiatives, notably the upcoming 2024 Industrial and Commercial Expo.
Scheduled to take place from August 21 to August 23 in Abuja, the second edition of the Expo is themed “Driving the Nigerian Economy to the Global Markets Level.”
This significant event aims to facilitate technology transfer and foster economic collaboration among key stakeholders in the sector.
Ogu revealed that extensive preparations are underway to ensure the Expo’s success, with over 300 exhibitors and approximately 10,000 attendees expected to participate.
“The event will feature high-level Government to Business meetings, and we expect about 300 exhibitors from different countries,” Ogu stated.
“Delegates will have the chance to meet local and international manufacturers, brands, and suppliers from countries such as China, South Korea, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil, Poland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Egypt, and many others.”
The Expo provides a platform for local manufacturers to showcase their products and engage with international producers, promoting the exchange of ideas and fostering business collaborations. Ogu believes these interactions are crucial for exposing Nigerian businesses to global markets and enhancing their competitiveness.
“The Expo aims to provide Nigerians with the opportunity to compete on an international level, offering greater value for their goods and services,” Ogu explained. He expressed optimism that the event would significantly impact the Nigerian economy by driving it toward global market competitiveness.
The Expo promises enhanced visibility for local exhibitors and direct access to end users for international exhibitors. The expected turnout of 10,000 visitors underscores the event’s potential to influence both local and international business communities positively.
“The 2024 Industrial and Commercial Expo represents a significant step towards economic growth and development in Nigeria,” Ogu concluded. “It will showcase the nation’s potential to engage with the global market and foster valuable business connections.”
