In a significant move towards enhancing security in Nigeria’s mining sector, Honorable Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, today graced the graduation ceremony of the second batch of mining marshals at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) headquarters.
This ceremony marks another milestone following the successful deployment of the first batch, which played a crucial role in reducing vandalism at mining sites and boosting sector revenue.
The event highlighted the fruitful collaboration between the Ministries of Interior and Solid Minerals Development, under the leadership of Dr. Dele Alake. This partnership underscores the critical importance of inter-ministerial cooperation for improved national security.
Building on this success, the NSCDC is poised to replicate this strategy across other key sectors including Power, Oil and Gas, Telecommunications, and Agriculture. Such initiatives align with the vision encapsulated in Nigeria’s national anthem, aiming for a secure and prosperous future for all generations.
This strategic extension of security measures across multiple sectors signals a proactive approach to safeguarding Nigeria’s critical infrastructure and ensuring sustainable development.
