In a vibrant celebration of youth creativity, Hon Rasaq Ajala (HRA), the Executive Chairman of Odi Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, graced the art exhibition held at Ilupeju Senior Secondary School.
The programme aimed to turn waste into beautiful art pieces, raising awareness about pollution reduction and environmental cleanliness.
The Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala, expressed his appreciation to the programme organizers, particularly Dr. Euba Ameera, founder of The Creative Colony Project, for her commitment to supporting the less fortunate despite her affluent background.
“I want to thank Dr. Euba Ameera for her zeal and for what she is doing for our children by using her influential position to provide them with a meaningful future,” he stated.
HRA was accompanied by key figures in the education sector, including Hon Quadri Bola Fais, Supervisor for Education, the Head of Department (HOD) Education, and Hon Babatunde Abubakar, Supervisor for Communications and Orientation.
In his address, Hon. Ajala highlighted the critical role of arts in holistic education.
“Art is not just a subject; it is a medium through which young minds can express their innermost thoughts and visions,” he said.
He added, “By encouraging our students to explore their artistic talents, we are fostering a generation that values creativity and innovation.”
The exhibition featured an array of artworks, from paintings and sculptures to digital art, all created by the students.
The event underscored the Lagos State Government’s commitment to enhancing the educational experience by integrating arts into the curriculum.
The council boss concluded his speech with a call to action for greater investment in arts education.
“Our duty as leaders is to provide the resources and opportunities for our youth to flourish in all areas, including the arts. Let us continue to support and celebrate their achievements,” he urged.
