Ayinla Ousmane Bamidele, widely known as “Coach,” has been selected as one of eleven Nigerians appointed to key committees within the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU).
This initiative aims to broaden representation and diversify perspectives to enhance decision-making and program development across the continent.
Coach Ayinla has been appointed to the Technical and Sports Regulations Committee of FASU, a role that acknowledges his extensive expertise and experience in sports.
His impressive resume includes positions as a basketball coach, technical director with the Kwara State Basketball
Association, and technical member of both the Nigeria Basketball Federation and the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Association.
A retired professional basketball player, Coach Ayinla’s career highlights include playing for Stade Abidjan, Bouake Braccody Cote d’Ivoire, and Milliana Basketball Club of Algiers. He is also an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he graduated with a degree in Physical and Health Education.
Coach Ayinla’s appointment is a testament to his significant contributions to sports, both nationally and internationally, and his ongoing commitment to the development of university sports in Africa.
