The vibrant spirit of sports and community pride was on full display at this year’s Lagos State Education District VI Sports Fiesta, held amidst enthusiasm and spirited competition.
The event, graced by dignitaries including Honorable Commissioner for Education, Hon Jamiu Tolani Alli Balogun, representing the leadership of His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu Oluyemisi, Governor of Lagos State, marked a celebration of athletic prowess and camaraderie.
Hon Rasaq Ajala (HRA), the Executive Chairman of Odi Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, was represented by his Vice, Hon Seyi Jakande, who brought a sense of official support and engagement to the festivities.
Alongside the vice-chairman were distinguished figures such as Hon Quadri Bola Fais, Supervisor for Education (Odi Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA), and former Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Board, Mr. Tunde Tinubu, among others.
The event kicked off with an array of sporting activities ranging from track and field to team competitions, showcasing the raw talent and sportsmanship within the Education District VI communities of Ikeja, Mushin, and Oshodi Isolo.
Athletes of all ages and backgrounds competed passionately, embodying the true spirit of healthy competition and unity.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Jamiu Tolani Alli Balogun emphasised the importance of sports in youth development and community cohesion, echoing the commitment of the Lagos State Government to nurturing sporting talent and promoting wellness across the state.
The Lagos State Education District VI Sports Fiesta not only highlighted the athletic prowess of participants but also served as a rallying point for fostering community bonds and promoting the values of teamwork and excellence among the youth.
