The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a sinister gang of ten suspected ritualists, accused of engaging in the gruesome practice of murdering individuals for their body parts, which were then sold to practitioners of occult rituals.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the police command, the leader of this macabre syndicate is identified as 33-year-old Ademola Akinlosotu. Akinlosotu allegedly orchestrated a horrifying operation that involved desecrating graves to extract human remains, subsequently escalating to actively orchestrating murders to fulfill the grisly demands of paying clients.
The arrested individuals include a community chief, an Ifa priest, an Osun priestess, an Islamic cleric, and a trado-medicine practitioner. These shocking revelations were disclosed by Hundeyin during a press conference held on Friday in Lagos, where he presented the suspects to the media.
The arrest was the culmination of diligent police work, driven by crucial intelligence provided by concerned members of the public. Hundeyin disclosed that the suspects lured unsuspecting victims to their hideouts, ensuring that none would return alive.
Evidently, the police recovered a gruesome array of human body parts from the suspects, providing chilling evidence of their nefarious activities. Hundeyin also mentioned that efforts were underway to track down additional suspects believed to be connected to this criminal enterprise.
It was during this press briefing that Akinlosotu, the alleged mastermind, made startling admissions to journalists. He revealed the grim details of his operation, admitting to initially sourcing body parts from graves before transitioning to orchestrating direct killings to meet the demand for fresh body parts from his clients.
Akinlosotu disclosed that his clients paid exorbitant sums for specific body parts, with fresh human heads fetching between N45,000 to N50,000, and other organs like hearts and hands commanding similarly shocking prices. He detailed how he would meticulously plan each murder, consulting with a herbalist to divine the success and potential consequences of each grisly act.
The most horrifying revelation was Akinlosotu’s claim that a traditional ruler from Badagry had commissioned him to murder his own son, citing familial disputes as the motive behind the request. Shockingly, on the day earmarked for the heinous act, Akinlosotu recounted that a friend he had met online unwittingly visited him, becoming an unintended victim of his deadly scheme.
