The popular Nigerian hip hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has stirred up controversy by expressing his preference for a British wife over a Nigerian one.
The artiste, who is gearing up for his fifth marriage, firmly asserted that Nigerian women are essentially indistinguishable from each other.
Portable, renowned for his energetic performances and bold statements, made it clear that he believes British women possess unique qualities that set them apart from their Nigerian counterparts.
“My 5th wife can never be a Nigerian, because Nigerian women are almost the same. My 5th wife must come from the UK,” declared the artiste emphatically.
The artiste went on to elaborate on his reasoning, emphasizing the perceived work ethic and independence of British women. “Those women work hard, and when they love you, they don’t bill you. They have their own money, so they are not even loving you for money,” Portable explained.
This statement has ignited a debate among fans and the public, with some applauding his candidness, while others criticize his generalization of Nigerian women.
Portable did not shy away from sharing his skepticism about the motives of Nigerian women, stating, “In Nigeria, you don’t know if women love you or they are just hungry.”
