Dr. Aminat Olawunmi Ige, a Lecturer II in the Department of Mathematics at Lagos State University (LASU) has won the Overall Best Graduating Doctoral Thesis Award at the 54th Convocation of the University of Lagos [UNILAG].
The accolade is a testament to her outstanding scholarly contribution and academic prowess.
Dr. Ige’s groundbreaking thesis, titled “O-Metric Spaces: A Novel Unification and Generalisation of Metric-Type Spaces with Applications in Fixed Point Theory,” not only stood out as the pinnacle of excellence within her own department but resonated as the best across the entire university for the 2022/2023 academic session.
An alumna of Lagos State University herself, Dr. Ige will be honored with both the Overall Best Graduating Doctoral Thesis Award and the Best in Sciences Award, which encompasses Engineering, Medicine, and the Faculty of Science, during the forthcoming 54th Convocation Ceremonies of the University of Lagos on Thursday, 18th January 2023.
