The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Special Intelligence Squad successfully uncovered and dismantled illegal crude oil warehouses in separate operations across Imo State.
The crackdown resulted in the apprehension of two suspects linked to the illicit activities.
The meticulously planned operations, executed by the NSCDC Commandant-General’s Special Intelligence Squad, targeted hidden facilities operating in Abacheke of Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Izorsu community of Oguta II LGA, and Umuofor Community of Oguta LGA in Imo State.
The law enforcement agency shared the triumphant news on its official Facebook page on Sunday, showcasing images that underscored the gravity of the illicit operations.
A caption accompanying the photos read, “Intensifying war against economic saboteurs: The CG SIS arrests two suspected economic saboteurs, impounds one Toyota Sequoia jeep loaded with over 5,000 litres of suspected adulterated AGO at Abacheke of Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State, also discovered and destroys two illegal crude oil warehouses located in a thick forest in Izorsu community of Oguta II LGA and Umuofor Community of Oguta LGA in Imo State respectively.”
The NSCDC’s resolute actions not only led to the arrest of the alleged economic saboteurs but also saw the impounding of a Toyota Sequoia jeep carrying a substantial quantity of suspected adulterated Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
The discovery and subsequent destruction of the illegal crude oil warehouses mark a significant victory in the ongoing battle against those undermining the nation’s economic stability.
