In a shocking turn of events, Ekwutosi Ezenwankwo from Agbiligba Nanka has been rescued from her alleged ritualist husband, Ifeanyi Ezenwankwo, after she refused to aid his criminal activities.
The disturbing story unfolded in their hometown of Nanka, Anambra State, and has sent shockwaves throughout the community.
According to Ekwutosi, her husband, Ifeanyi, who is also a native of Nanka, had a sinister habit of impregnating a 16-year-old girl and subsequently performing abortions.
However, his luck ran out when the young girl became pregnant again.
Ekwutosi, speaking with trembling resolve, recounted that upon discovering her husband’s nefarious activities, she sternly warned him that nothing should happen to the young girl or her unborn child.
In response, Ifeanyi began hiding the girl within the confines of their home.
The pivotal moment in this harrowing tale came when Ekwutosi, returning home from a hospital visit, noticed an unusual bloodstain on the floor.
Alarmed, she questioned the young girl, who explained it away as a heavy menstrual flow.
Suspicion gnawed at Ekwutosi, leading her to inspect the girl’s body.
To her astonishment, the girl was no longer pregnant. It was while she was preparing to return to the hospital that she stumbled upon a newborn infant hidden beside their wardrobe.
Without hesitation, Ekwutosi tended to the newborn and rushed to the hospital where her other child was receiving treatment.
However, her ordeal was far from over. When asked about her injuries, she revealed that her husband, Ifeanyi Ezenwankwo, brutally assaulted her when he found her interrupting the clandestine burial of the newborn.
Regarding the severe injuries she sustained, Ekwutosi explained that her husband, Ifeanyi Ezenwankwo, inflicted them upon her.
This occurred when she returned from the hospital and discovered that her newborn was being buried without her consent. She contested this situation, resulting in her and her other children enduring brutal harm inflicted by her husband.
She also disclosed that her husband had made threats on her life, which had become a recurring pattern. She cited instances where community members had intervened to protect her from her husband’s attempts to silence her.
When asked about the root cause of their issues, Ekwutosi attributed them to her husband’s decision to marry another woman, after which he ceased contributing to the well-being and support of their children.
