A Manchester-trained Nigerian IT expert, Dr Wale Oni, has itemised ten steps to edit UTME results.
While disclosing this via his Facebook page, Dr Oni, identified “least 5 copious typographic errors on the JAMB/UTME result slip on parade.”
According to him, one needs no degree in forensics to know that it’s doctored.
“Who did it can as well be known by copperheads,” he said.
He added, “How this fakery was achieved is quite simple but not common. Unfortunately, the front-end web edit approach employed by the culprit is not foolproof. And most forgers are usually careless, very careless!”
Here are the most common steps to edit a html webpage using inspect element:
- Launch your browser
- Open the JAMB/UTME web page to check results
- Right click on the result webpage on display and navigate the drop down menu and select “Inspect”
- Locate the page editor icon in the top left-hand corner of Inspect
- Inspect the html code and locate the text you wish to edit. If you click on the text as seen in the content page, the Inspect command will automatically locate it for you in the html code section
- Click on the text that you wish to edit on the page (text will be highlighted in blue when ready for editing). Then, double click on this text to edit it
- Select “Enter” once you finish making changes.
- Close the Inspect by clicking the close icon at the top right-hand corner.
- Print the new display result page showing your fake content by right clicking the page and selecting “Print” in the drop-down menu list.
- Celebrate your fake JAMB-UTME result on social media for social validation and credits.
