Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti (BOUESTI) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 33 new undergraduate programmes.
According to the Punch, the approval followed the visitation of a team of experts from NUC to the university.
it was reported that the visitation was aimed at assessing its capacity to implement the proposed programmes, taking into consideration the availability of human and material resources.
Following a thorough evaluation, BOUESTI was given a clean bill of health.
According to a statement by BOUESTI’s Public Relations Officer, Temitope Akinbisoye, the approval was conveyed in a letter dated 19th June 2023, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Olufemi Adeoluwa.
The university now offers a total of 78 degree programmes, a significant milestone.
Reacting to the news, the VC expressed his delight, considering it a positive development and a testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to excellence and quality education.
Among the newly approved programmes are Bachelor’s degrees in Transport and Logistics Management, Procurement Management, Educational Technology, Library and Information Science, Early Childhood Education, Computer Science Education, History, English and Literary Studies, History and International Studies, and French.
