Bishop Mathew Kukah has urged the Nigerian government to uphold and enforce the freedom of religious practice.
He highlighted the need to provide places of worship for adherents of different faiths in federal government establishments across the country.
Bishop Kukah emphasised that these places of worship are essential for individuals to freely practice their religion.
The bishop who spoke to journalists shortly after the inaugural Mass at the catholic chaplaincy of the 119 Composite Group of the Nigeria Air force Sokoto, emphasised the importance of these places of worships that enable personnel to freely practice their religion.
He pointed out that many federal government universities, medical centers, and other establishments lack provisions for Christian places of worship, particularly in several regions of Northern Nigeria, which violates the constitutional provision.
