Residents of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA showered their praises and blessings upon Hon Rasaq Ajala (HRA), the Chairman of the LCDA, for his commendable effort in offering subsidised rams for the Eid festival.
According to a report by The Naija News the sale of these rams began at the council that today, prompting residents to gather in large numbers, eager to benefit from this annual gesture.
Expressing his gratitude to the council boss, AbdulAzeez Aderoju, the Chairman of the working committee of Imams and Alfas in Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, acknowledged that he has personally benefitted from this initiative on multiple occasions.
“Since Hon Rasaq Ajala assumed the position of chairman in this local government, I have consistently benefitted from his numerous programmes,” he said.
Aderoju further affirmed that HRA has been instrumental in improving the lives of both Muslims and Christians within the LCDA.
“He has instilled hope in those of us who had lost it, ensuring that the upcoming Eidul celebration will be joyfully celebrated. Thanks to Hon Ajala, we will all partake in the festivities,” he added.
Aderoju expressed his appreciation for the subsidy provided on the rams, emphasizing that it holds significant value.
He also commended the fact that this initiative specifically targets the underprivileged residents of the LCDA and prayed for the chairman’s continued blessings from Almighty Allah.
Mrs Oluwaranti Adepoju, a resident of Ilupeju, prayed for the chairman and offered prayers for the success of his administration.
Adepoju also expressed her gratitude for the “reasonable price” at which each ram was being sold, acknowledging that this was not her first time benefiting from the initiative.
Another resident from Tinubu Road, Ilupeju, spoke of the “big difference” between the subsidised price and the market price, leaving him almost speechless. He concluded by offering prayers for the chairman’s continued blessings.
After stumbling upon the promo on social media, Mr. Sokunbi Lawal, residing at 27 Alhaji Ota Street, decided to take a chance and participate.
He expressed his gratitude to Hon. Ajala for organizing such a beneficial programme. He fervently prayed for God’s continuous blessings and safeguarding of Hon. Ajala.
Mrs. Yinka Ogunseye, residing at 15 Olorunsogo, expressed her gratitude towards the council boss for enabling her to purchase a ram.
She emphasized that this purchase had significantly saved her a considerable amount of money, given the exorbitant prices of rams in the market.
Delighted with the opportunity to slaughter a ram this year, she admitted that she had initially doubted the possibility due to the steep increase in costs associated with acquiring one.
In a video capturing the reactions of residents who benefitted from the initiative, they can be heard saying, “One day, you will become our governor,” showcasing their admiration and support for Hon Rasaq Ajala.

Addressing the misconception that this initiative is exclusively for Muslims, it should be noted that during the Christmas season, subsidised chickens are sold to Christians who may not be able to afford the market price, further highlighting the inclusive nature of this programme.
