An Afro-pop artiste, Onafuye Olalekan Timothy, popularly known as ‘Leksyd’ has kicked off his 2023 music journey with a new single, entitled ‘Holy Michael’ featuring 9ice.
As part of his plans to keep his fans entertained this year, the singer, who hails from Ogun State, described his duet with 9ice as a genius move, one that will help his budding music career gain favourable attention.
Leksyd started his music career at the age of nine when he was introduced to different musical instruments in high school till he started making his way to record in music studios.
Leksyd’s music has been mostly influenced by the icons in the Nigerian music industry including King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, King Sunny Ade, 9ice and Burna Boy.
He said: “Making good music has always been my favorite hobby, it also helped me in expressing my inner thoughts.”
His newly released single under Imuzic Label – ‘Holy Michael’ features ‘9ICE’ on this amazing piece. The song has combined elements of Afrobeats and Afro-pop, with unique vocals and prayerful lyrics on the beat which helped to create a distinct sound for the lovers of good music.
Speaking about his plans for the rest of the year, Leksyd revealed that he will be releasing a couple of singles with amazing visuals and an amazing body of work (EP) for his core fans.
Leksyd is set to mark his spot in a rapidly evolving and developing Nigerian music scene.
