The Owutu Branch of Nasrul-lahi-li Fatih Society (NASFAT) has celebrated this year’s Women’s Day.
The celebration was held together with the lecture organized to sensitize the members to this year’s Ramadan.
The Women’s Day, which was celebrated today as part of the Sunday’s service, was organized by the branch Woman leader, Alhaja Modinat Ishola.
While speaking about the celebration, Alhaja Ishola maintained that the event was aimed at appreciating the role of women in national growth and development.
She stated further that the annual celebration is equally an avenue to sensitize women to their motherly and domestic roles in child upbringing.
She noted that since charity begins at home, women play a vital role in ensuring that their children contribute meaningfully to their society.
“Today is to celebrate you mothers, ladies, and girls. We admire your strengths; we appreciate your resilience,” the woman leader stated.
She added, “Despite all odds, you never stopped being an exceptionally amazing and strong supporter of our programmes.
“Thank you for your contributions to the growth of our great Society; thank you for your contributions to women’s programme and activities and for all you do for NASFAT.”
Also, the branch organized a pre-Ramadan lecture to prepare all members for the annual spiritual exercise.
The lecture, titled “Ramadan, A Season of Spiritual Re-awakening”, was delivered by NASFAT Chief Missioner (Worldwide), Fadilat Sheikh Al-Imam Morufudeen AbdulAzeez Onike
.
In his lecture, he advised the congregation to distance themselves from whatever can deny them full spiritual rewards during the month of the holy month of Ramadan.
Onike emphasized that the month of Ramadan is a month of forgiveness and multiple Allah’s blessings. He stressed that every devout Muslim must increase their good deeds to enjoy all the blessings that come with the month.
After giving the congregation special prayers to say throughout the month, he admonished, “It is important that every one remains steadfast on the path of Islam.”
“Always fast and observe tahajud,” Onike advised, alluding to some prophets.
The highlight of the event was the cutting of the cake presented for the Women’s Day celebration.
