The Woman Leader of the Nasir Fathi Society NASFAT Owutu Branch in Ishawo, Ikorodu Lagos, Alhaja Modinat Ishola, has given out books and other valuable items to schoolchildren.
The gifts were given out to the pupils of NASFAT Nursery and Primary School, Owutu, on Thursday February 23, 2023.
According to the woman leader, the gesture was done in commemoration of the celebration of the branch Charity Day 2023.
Speaking about the gesture, Alhaja Modinat Ishola explained that the gesture was part of her initiative to give back to the young ones.
“Allah has mandated us in the holy Qu’ran that every Muslim who has enough must give back to the have-nots,” the woman leader said.
“This year’s charity was targeted at the young ones. It is for a purpose,” she added.
The branch spokesperson, Imam Saheed Oladele, appreciated the woman leader for deeming it fit to reach out to the pupils.
He stated that it was a good initiative from a woman leader, urging other members of the society to emulate the good idea.
“Whoever that takes care of the young ones is obviously preparing for a better tomorrow,” Imam Oladele said.
“Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders.”
The spokesperson also stated that the gesture would go a long way to encourage the pupils to replicate this initiative later in the future.
“The didactic message it passes to the pupils is that they too will want to do the same when growing up. I implore everyone to emulate our woman leader,” he said.
He added, “Charity is one of the pillars of Islam. A devout Muslim must never shy away from it, for Allah has promised to replenish the pockets of the givers in multiple ways.”
It would be recalled that the woman leader also recently distributed hijabs to youngsters at this branch.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the gift items and the distribution of exercise books to the schoolchildren.
