Not less than 4,325 Community Development Associations (CDAs) and the 57 Community Development Councils (CDCs) in Lagos State have endorsed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for second term.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and Governor Sanwo-Olu received the endorsement at the 2022 Community Day Celebration organised by the Community Development Advisory Council (CDAC) in collaboration with Lagos State Government.
The event, which was held on Thursday January 19, 2023, at the Police College in GRA Ikeja, was themed: “Strengthening Community Engagement for Inclusive Governance”.
Speaking at the event, Sanwo-Olu said, “This endorsement attests to a working partnership we have established with the CDAs and CDCs across the local councils in the State.”
He added, “We have pledged to ensure the continuation of programmes and policies that would yield positive benefits for the grassroots.”
The governor maintained that the critical role played by the grassroots movement in promoting peace and stability within the state can not be undermined.
“CDAs and CDCs’ advisory council have also not only been dependable, but have proven to be trusted organizations and progressive partners in bringing development to local communities,” he said.
