Political leaders in Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Mushin community Lagos State have flagged off election campaign.
The leaders charged their residents to equip themselves with Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to enable them cast their votes during the elections.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the LCDA All Progressive Congress (APC) unveiled its flag bearers at the campaign flagship at Olateju ‘Ogba GOS’ on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, a former Senator, who represented Lagos West from 2007 to 2011, advised the residents and the party members to ensure they get their PVCs before the elections time.
“This is the appropriate time for you to equip yourselves with your voters card, that only will allow you to vote for our party during the elections.
“Ensure you tell your friends, colleagues and neighbours to collect their PVCs too to allow them exercise their franchise during the general elections,” Solomon said.
Also speaking, Mr Yemi Alli, one of the flagbearers, who is recontesting Federal House of Representatives seat, urged the people to get their PVCs and utilise it well for the party during the elections.
Alli advised the party faithful to go enmasse to collect their PVCs at their various wards in the community for the purpose of participating in the coming elections.
“We have been working on the social infrastructure of our community and we will continue to do more. That’s why we want you to get your voters card to enable you to cast your votes for APC candidates,” he said.
Mr Nurudeen Akinsanya, a Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who is also recontesting for the seat, applauded the party members and the entire residents for the support given to the party at all time.
Akinsanya said that the most important factor that would determine their support was to get their voters card, at the same time exercise their franchise during the coming election.
“We want you to go out in your various community to get your PVCs and ensure you participate in the elections.
“We don’t want anybody to stay at home without casting their votes during these elections.
“Cast your vote for APC, for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for president, Sanwo-Olu for governor Yemi Alli for Reps. and Akinsanya for Lagos House of Assembly,” he said.
The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo LCDA, Hon Rasaq Ajala, appealed to the residents to equip themselves with their PVCs to enable participate fully during the elections.
Ajala said that this was a critical period for residents and party members to get their voters card for the elections.
“This is the party that will reposition the country for good, it is not about winning elections but to win with wider merging.
“We advise you to go and get your cards to prepare you well for the coming elections,” the council chairman said.
Mr Rafeeu Aderanmola, Chairman of the APC Campaign Committee in Odi-Olowo LCDA, in his remarks, urged the residents to utilise their PVCs well after collection.
Aderanmola advised the constituents not to sell their PVCs or use them to exchange for material things.
