The Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Ajala, (HRA) has inaugurated ICT workstations and e-libraries in primary schools within the LCDA.
According to the chairman, the projects reinforce his commitment to quality education.
Hon. Adeyemi Alli and Hon. Nureni Ayinde Akinsanya, members representing Mushin Constituency 1 in the House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly respectively, joined the chairman to inaugurate the projects at Saint Martins and Ajenifuja Primary Schools, Mushin.
The two political leaders also witnessed the distribution of benches and desks to schools across the LCDA.
The event took place on Saturday December 17, 2022, simultaneously at St. Martins Primary School in Danmegoro, Ojuwoye and Ajenifuja Primary School in Ilupeju Area.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ajala stated that the intervention was aimed at equipping pupils within the LCDA with skills to compete favourably with their counterparts in the developed world.
He added that the ICT would expose them to a lot of things.
“Today’s world has gone digital; hence the need to expose our children to computer knowledge,” Ajala said.
“The world has moved from analogue to digital technology, and we can’t afford to lag in giving the best to our children in the learning process through the use of ICT,” he stressed.
30 KVA generating sets was also donated to the two centres– St. Martins primary school, and Ajenifuja primary school respectively to ensure adequate power supply.
Ajala also stated that the two centres would have a manager each to manage them.
HRA said what people are witnessing today was the continuity of the legacy bequeathed by Hon. Adeyemi Alli.
“Government is continuous, what we are seeing today is the efforts of the past government in the LCDA,” Ajala said.
He thanked Hon. Adeyemi Alli for laying the solid foundation the present government is building on.
He called on the people to vote massively for the two candidates of the All Progressive Congress at the event, Hon. Adeyemi Alli and Hon. Nureni Ayinde Akinsanya for the House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly respectively in the coming elections.
Hon. Ajala also presented benches and desks for distribution into the public primary schools in the LCDA.
“I am happy to present these benches and desks to the public primary schools in the LCDA, and I am giving the power of distribution to the Education Secretary to make an assessment needs of the items and distribute them according to their needs across the schools in the LCDA,” he said.
HRA seized the opportunity of the yuletide period to announce the end-of-year package of ten thousand naira each for all the teaching and non-teaching staff in the LCDA and extended the same to all the police officers in the three formations within the LCDA.
The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the two ICT workstations/e-libraries as well as the presentation of the benches and desks for distribution.
At the event was the Vice-Chairman of the council, Hon. Oluseyi Jakande, head of the legislative arm of government in the LCDA Hon. Rilwan Ajenifuja.
Others were the Secretary to the LCDA, Hon. Mujeeb Ayinde Daramola and the LCDA APC Chairman, Hon. Ismail Babatunde Kazeem (TUNKAZ).
Also at the event were the Chief Imam of Ilupeju and Chairman of the council of the league of Chief Imams and Alfas Alhaji Gafar Shittu; the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Odiolowo-Ojuwoye branch, Pastor Abraham Olaluwoye; Iyaloja General of Ojuwoye Market, Alhaja Mufuliat Adebunmi, representatives of the Community Development Association in the LCDA among others.
