Kwara State govt empowers 8000 unemployed youth, women

The Kwara State government has commenced the disbursement of funds to 8000 unemployed youth, including women, through its newly launched public workfare scheme.

Announced by the acting General Manager of Kwara State Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP), Dr. Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini, on Monday, the initiative aims to actively engage young individuals in gainful employment, fostering productivity and social development.

The rollout of the workfare scheme follows weeks of meticulous enumeration across all 16 local government areas of Kwara State.

Dr. Tejidini highlighted the extensive efforts of the KWASSIP team, stating, “In the last few weeks, our team at KWASSIP has toured the 16 local government areas of Kwara State to enumerate beneficiaries of the public workfare scheme.”

Each beneficiary is set to receive a financial boost of N25,000, providing immediate relief and support for their economic endeavors. This injection of funds is expected to contribute significantly to the socio-economic well-being of individuals across the state.

Dr. Tejidini emphasized the scheme’s alignment with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision for empowering the youth and enhancing overall societal productivity.
