ICYF unveils simulation event in Kampala, addresses Palestinian issue

In a joint effort to foster global awareness and engagement, the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) and the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) successfully organized a Model Organization of Islamic Cooperation (MOIC) simulation on December 28th, 2023, in Kampala.

Thirty IUIU students who delved into immersive training sessions and discussions, particularly focusing on the complex Palestinian issue, participated in the event.

During the grand opening ceremony, the stage was set with the presence of key figures in the diplomatic and academic spheres. Dr. Yunus Çolak, the Coordinator of ICYF MOIC, delivered insightful remarks on the importance of youth involvement in addressing global challenges. Dr. Jamil Serwanga, Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs at IUIU, emphasized the significance of such simulations in shaping the perspectives of future leaders.

Adding to the distinguished lineup was Mr. Ömer Aykon, the Turkey Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) Uganda Country Coordinator.

Mr. Aykon shared his perspectives on the pivotal role that international collaborations play in fostering understanding and cooperation among nations.

The core of the event revolved around the comprehensive training provided to thirty IUIU students, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate diplomatic complexities.

These budding leaders engaged in robust discussions, particularly centering on the multifaceted challenges surrounding the Palestinian issue.

The MOIC simulation served as a platform for participants to step into the shoes of diplomats, negotiators, and policymakers, gaining firsthand experience in addressing global issues.

The practical approach aimed to nurture a deeper understanding of the intricate dynamics involved in finding solutions to complex geopolitical challenges.

The event not only facilitated intellectual growth but also strengthened ties between ICYF, IUIU, and TİKA, showcasing the power of international collaboration in fostering education and dialogue.
