RRS nabs notorious cable thief on Third Mainland Bridge

In a swift operation at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) apprehended Seidu Ali (24), a Nigerien national, for the second time in three weeks.

The suspect, caught in the act of stealing cables on Third Mainland Bridge, was found in possession of four tightly bound strands of stolen cables.

This marks the second arrest for Seidu Ali, who had previously faced charges for attempting cable theft on the same bridge, the RRS team said.

The diligent operatives of RRS, on their routine patrol, acted promptly to thwart the suspect’s criminal activities.

Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, has issued a directive for immediate legal action, urging that Seidu Ali be swiftly brought to court to face the consequences of his repeated offenses.

This incident underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat cable theft, a menace that has plagued infrastructure and disrupted services.
